Each patch is one by one pass built from a low fuel claybody. The overall form is well-stacked up from a serial of slabs. Most of the stress pieces are give rolled. The superficial palm is applied with underglazes using a compounding of brushing, sponge and airbrushing. And finally, each is coated with a clear, richly colour glaze.
